A Note From Stella

I designed and produced this CD because I needed it and it didn't exist. Now that I have it I use it all the time. Too much of the great old music was poorly recorded and the best of it was available only on LPs. By the time I was finished taping from LPs (assuming that what I wanted was in the public domain) the sound quality was so bad no one could really enjoy hearing my set. And pulling bits off of several different records and tapes just made a disjointed auditory jumble. Audiences really do appreciate having high-quality sound that they can really get into.

I admit to being old fashioned. in some of my musical taste: I love the old songs. I wanted to combine the storied ambience of the "great days of Eighth Avenue" with today's technology. I hope you like this album; I know your audiences will.
